A good meeting point at Houston Intercontinental?

We are 4 ladies meeting for a reunion. 3 of us are flying in and being picked up by the 4th (who won't be able to go to the gate area, of course) Is there a good place outside security (but still within the airport) that we can all meet up ( or are the baggage claim areas the best place) Thanks!

I think we're all flying into different terminals as well.

While it does depend on which terminals, I think the baggage claim area in C is the best. If your arrival gate is in C or E, all baggage will arrive at C. C is in the "middle" of the airport and easy to get to from other terminals. And there's the cheap short-term parking at C.

Terminal C's pickup point has the worst traffic of anywhere in the airport. It's not unusual to take 10-15 minutes wait for the driver to just get to the pickup place.

The best place for pickup is at the new Terminal E. But if some of you have checked luggage, then you may need to haul stuff over to E by the underground train. Which adds hassle, but it's much less crowded.

What airlines and origins are the 3 of you flying in from? And what are the arrival times?

At the security entrance from Terminal C to the central concourse, there is a statue of George Bush, central to Terminals B, C, D, and E. If you are all coming in Continental, this is a convenient point. As the other poster mentions, unless you have checked bags on Continental Express; luggage from terminals C, D, and E delivers to a central baggage claim.

Don't know if the others are checking baggage--we're trying to talk everyone into a carry on. We've got arrivals from Tulsa, Okla city, and New Orleans
My friend mentioned a hotel that is connected to the airport with a tram and we could meet there. Is that feasable?

If you are all arriving at different times and/or different terminals the hotel would indeed be an option. You would have to take the tram (no big deal)

Tulsa and OKA are mostly Continental Express regional jet that comes in Terminal B, but each city has 2 flights a day on mainline jet that comes in C/E.

New Orleans is all mainline (Terminal C/E).

The Marriott is between B & C, and is easy for pickup. That's a very good choice.

Actually, there's one New Orleans flight on COEX that comes in B. Sorry.

The Marriot sounds like the place. All our flights come in within 30 of each other, but waiting at the hotel coffeeshop would be much nicer than baggage claim--and easier for our friend to meet us. Thanks for all the info.

We did use the Marriot as our meeting spot (the coffee kiosk in the lobby) and it was just fine. Easy to get to with the train and comfortable--a very nice place to catch up with each other. Thanks for the recommendation.
We went to MFAH on Saturday and saw the Gee's Bend quilt collection--very good, well laid out and the stories of the ladies were very inspiring! Also saw the photo exhibition and ate at Cafe Express at the museum--great, inexpensive food.
