That's easy: the C Lazy U in Granby, Colorado is without a doubt the best dude ranch. Spectacular scenery, great horses, superb staff. I've been twice, and await the next excuse to go again. All meals are included in the rate. Mobil and AAA give the C Lazy U five stars and five diamonds.

A small quiet family place is the White Stallion Ranch in Tucson, AZ. It is open from Oct-Apr (approx). Daily rate includes all family-style meals, all riding, and accomodations. It isn't a glitzy place, but is very reasonably priced and the riding is great. The ranch has a pool and tennis courts, and there is lots to do in the Tucson area for excursions other than riding. The rooms are comfortable (no TV or phone in the rooms - available in the lodge). It is a family run operation.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lost Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole WY. Ranch is an all inclusive deal with wonderful meals, activities of all sorts from white water rafting on Snake River to tours of Yellowstone. Kids activities. Assigned own horse for the week with riding tailored to your skills. One on one attention. Located at the base of the Grand Tetons, close to the Snake River, the scenery is unequaled. Individual cabins or duplex cabins. Small numbers at one time so plenty of attention. Access to a National Forest for riding so no long tourist lines plodding along well worn trails. Great experience. Check it out.
