95 across Glen Canyon and Lake Powell

It's marked as scenic on AAA map. Is it for real?

Thanks!

My Utah map also has it as "scenic".

But since it's not in my planned trip path, I didn't look into it too much other than to check mileage. It added substantial miles so I didn't research it any further.

I don't see a Hwy. 95 on my map; if you mean Hwy. 89, yes, it's scenic. We drove from Page to Bryce Canyon a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty stunning.

It connects Utah 24 from Hanksville and 191 near Blanding.

Here is the link for google maps.

We drove this route going from Natural Bridges up and over to Capitol Reef. The route is scenic, especially around the Glen Canyon area. Once you get north of there the landscape starts changing again and before you reach Hanksville you enter an area that looks like you are on the moon. I guess the question is scenic compared to what?
If you have seen the Utah Natl. parks, etc. it may not be worth your time. For me it was the only way to get to Cap. Reef and I was not able to drive it the last time around. There are not too many roads to choose from in that area. Where are you trying to get to?

I've driven 12 and 24 last winter from Capitol Reef to Arches. 12 is the best and the first part of 24 was really nice too (from CR to Hanksville).

This time we are visiting Natural Bridges and think we have some time left for the day. We will head east afterward so we would return after the scenic drive.

Wondering if this is worth it.

I am sorry I don't quite understand. Where are you heading after visiting Natural Bridges? Are you taking 95 east towards Blanding? I have not driven this section of 95. I wish I had been able too though. If you do the satelite image on your google map link you can zoom in pretty good to get an idea.

I have a day around Natural Bridges. The next day will be in CO, probably in Black Canyon.

I am not familiar with Sat image. It looks like going along a ridge, right?

From what I can tell the drive from Natural Bridges to Blanding is pretty flat except where you see the
big "U" in the road about half way.
This is Comb Ridge where the road appears to cut into the rock for a couple miles as you go up and over the ridge. Looks like a scenic ride thru there. Here is a link to the whole 95 route.
