Makai we will travel end of August beginning of September.
The lowest fares are with British Airways right now and Air France comes very close. I find tickets with 900-1000euro from Athens/San Francisco/Athens. (i want to book our sfo/oahu/lihue tickets separately). I guess i'll book them one of these days because i'm afraid that later on they will become more expensive...

Makai what do you suggest about Kauai...should we stay in the north or south shore? From the photos and google earth i think the north shore is the place to stay but i wouldn't like to have rain all day long!

aloha cristine... so Aug-Sept 2008...

North shore Kauai should be beautiful weather... you will not have rain "all day long" unless some weird act of nature blew in!

Did you take a peek at my photos from Kauai that I posted in my trip report in an earlier post on this thread? They are from late June-July... weather is gorgeous in summer. You must expect occasional showers. Rainbows. Roosters... sorry, I'm getting carried away. But honestly, you'll welcome the occasional showers... they last but a short while, cool everything down, make everything fragrant and then before you know it, "here comes the sun".

Not sure if you are looking for a resort, or condo/villa... many to recommend if you know what you're looking for? Do you need a pool?

We loved the villa where we stayed... really there are MANY nice places on the north shore depending upon your desires and your budget. Give a shout out if you want more help with that.

Here's the link again, and if you'd like to look at the photos, use the link and scroll down on my home page to "Kauai album". A picture tells a thousand words!

Much aloha... happy planning.

ps. a great tool for searching airfare is this site...

http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch

log in as a guest... if your dates are flexible click on the appropriate links at the top of the page... search away for the best price and then go direct to the airline for the tix. It's a search engine that the travel agents use... excellent site. You might give it a whirl.

aloha for now...
