7 days in southern Utah- please help
Hi! I need help planning our utah vacation... we are a family of five flying into st. George in august ... We have small kids (7 & 4) We have seven days. I booked all seven nights at a hotel in Springdale. I planned on doing mostly Zion and just driving to Bryce for one day. I realize there is so much to see that is so close. Is Springdale super crowded? I would like to do the Grand Staircase- where should we go; Escalante or Kanab? I was thinking of doing the Capitol Reef National Park too? The Capitol Reef Resort looks fun for my kids. Is hwy 12 worth the drive?
My rough idea...
Day 1: arrive in St. George and drive to Springdale
Day 2&3: Zion
Day 4: up early and head to Bryce Canyon; drive to Torrey
Day 5: capitol Reef national park
Day 6: Escalante
Any advice on logistics/itinerary would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance.

You do not want to stay the whole week in one place. Way too much driving back and forth. And you can't drive those roads at night--wildlife and open range cattle on the roads. For hiking in August, you will need to be leaving your hotel by 6 am--it will be hotter than Hades.
