From California, know many Californians, and nobody calls it Cali no matter what their age. I will even generalize that further to say I've never run into anyone in the West (and not the "Midwest" either which is really the MidEast) call it Cali. Maybe Ohio is the exception? But nothing to be proud of.

TTess- I can't speak for other kids, but my son and I are close. He tells me way more than I want to know. Maybe I should have him visit you...he goes to CSUMB!!
Seriously, I know "Cali" exsists, just like " San Berdo" and "Frisco". I don't use any of those slang words. I am more "with it" than some of my 50 something friends.

BarbAnn - Although I'm sure your son is any angel. I've got my hands full with a teenage daughter...I don't need yet another boy hanging around here. My husband already has a guard at the house armed with a shot gun.
