5Star Broadmoor Hotel Colorado Springs

They have a really good deal of $115 for 2 during the month of Nov.& Dec. Any thoughts to this wonderful hotel? Also, I am trying to find the menus on any of their 8 restaurants.
Thanks

Everything you would ever want to know about the Broadmoor. A truly lovely resort. You will not be disappointed.

It will be butt cold and there won't be much outside. Inside is lovely though but the resort is spread out so if you get a room far away (that would be the $115 rooms) you'll be walking around alot in the cold rain.

The high ratings are mostly because of the grounds, the public areas in the resort, the history and the character of this place.
The rooms are not "5 star" IMO, and do not feel as luxurious as they should for the niche this hotel tries to fill.
You can't go wrong with the rate you got, but don't go there expecting it to be the Four Seasons as you enter your room. The rest will likely be very satisfying, and for the price, you will likely be pleased.

I agree with the posts about the Broadmoor's beautiful setting, lovely service, not that much to do during Nov. and Dec., but nevertheless a nice escape. As far as the rooms are concerned, some are extremely nice, easily on a Four Seasons level, but probably not those for special $115 rate. HOWEVER, if the hotel is not booked (and chances are they're not because of the low rates they're offering), when you check in, they may give you a much nicer room even for a low rate. If the room you're assigned is really uncomfortable, they will certainly try to accommodate you.

Tamara,

The Broadmoor is one of the nicest resorts my husband stayed at. The service is top notch, grounds are beautiful, and I found the rooms to be very comfortable esp. the bed with all the pillows. It is very worth the money.

I agree that the grounds are what make the Broadmoor so nice. Our room there was perfectly fine, but not 5 star. My family really enjoyed the indoor pool, and the spa is very nice. Make sure you schedule a massage. There are interesting shops on the grounds as well. My kids liked the in-house movie theater. You've gotten a great deal!

We paid the lowest summer rate in July 2000. For that we were in the old, origional building but it was very nice. We had a huge room and a very nice sitting area, sunny, with widows all around. The bathroom was old but I think that they have been redone. There are so many restaurants that it's hard to decide on which to go to. The coffee in all the ones we tried was too weak for us but the food was pretty good. A fun resort.
