50th Birthday suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on where to celebrate my 50th birthday in Sept. I celebrated my 40th at the Registry Resort in Naples Florida. Since then my husband & I have crusied Alaska,Med,Hawaii and the Carribean. We like nice hotels, some shopping, a beach and some sightseeing. All suggestions welcome !! We are from Scotland UK

Katiegirl,

I love California. Visit San Diego/La Jolla with some additional time at the Ritz Carlton in Lajuna Nigel. Or from San Diego, take a Mexican Cruise. Or visit the San Francisco Bay Area and the Wine Country which is fabulous in September.

Another thought..if you've never been to NYC or Washington,DC., you should consider it. Our friends from the UK have fallen in love with these two.

I'm with DownSouth on this one... the Pacific Coast from LA to Northern CA has some stunning ocean Scenery and any number of beautiful ocean front hotels... look into Carmel, Monterey for a Naples type vacation... we stayed at the Marina Dunes right on the ocean in a bungalow and found it to be everything we expected... Happy 50!

I am also celebrating my 50th birthday in September. I'll be on Oahu, Hawaii for 3 days, the Big island of Hawaii for 2 days, then Kauai for 2 days. I will actually be on Oahu on the day of my birthday. I was thinking I should have planned to be on Kauai on my birthday and take one of the helicopter trips over the lush scenery and waterfalls. Between the lush scenery of Kauai and the volcano on Hawaii, I am very excited to celebrate my 50th in Hawaii!!

Agree with Northern California- San Francisco, Napa & Sonoma Valleys, and either north to Mendocino or South to Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur (Post Ranch Inn).
