Just booked Poipu Sands 212 for May. Appreciate the good descriptions; I'm sure it will be perfect! The website is now updated to show remodeled kitchen, which looks lovely. (Not that I plan to spend much time cooking!): www.poipusands212.com. I was able to snag FF seats, so with the savings will also spring for a night at the Grand Hyatt so grandson (and I??) can enjoy the pools, slides, etc. for a couple days. Thanks for inspiring me to complete plans for the trip.

Daydreamin - what a wonderful TR. My husband and I are planning to go to Kauai in October 2007. I too have been looking at the Poipu Kai Resort. Do you have any pictures of the Poipu Sands unit you stayed in that you would be willing to share. Mostly interested in the view from the lanai. Also, is unit #212 the top floor (or is there a chance there would be people above you walking around). I don't mean to sound picky but we have had loud people walking around above us before when we rented a condo.
Any more information you could give me on this particular condo would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi girardin.....for good photos, go to http://www.vrbo.com/44038. Neal, the owner, has updated photos of the unit. There is also one taken from the lanai, looking towards Shipwreck beach. Also, go to his website for some good virtual tours. His pictures are much better than any we took and they show the unit exactly as it is...in other words, no slick brochure photos misrepresenting it.
The unit is on the first floor which we loved. And we never heard any noise from the unit above us or on either side. I'm not sure if they all were occupied the entire time but some were and we never heard a thing.
There's not a lot more to say that I didn't mention above. We really liked the place, felt we had really lucked out and were very happy with the unit and the location.
I'll see if I can find makai1's post for you.

There are a lot of very good and informative Kauai TRs on this forum. Just a quick search of "Kauai" should pull them up.
Have a great time! I look forward to your TR!
