There aren't any 5 star hotels in San Jose.
There are some that might make it to 4 star - the St Claire, the Fairmont, or maybe the Valencia in Santana Row or the Doubletree near the airport, plus a couple of others.
Will you have a car?
Aren't you the one that was asking about a taxi from SFO to San Jose? Why not just fly into San Jose International Airport?
You'll still need a car to get around greater San Jose.
Why not look on internet websites like Tripadvisor or Kayak to see if there are any "deals"?

OK - your other thread said you were going to San Francisco- but everything else has been about SJ.
Just where are you wanting to go? If it is SJ then consider flying there. If it is San Francisco -is there a reason you want to stay in SJ? As et says there are no '5 star' hotels there - few I would consider '4star'. What is your actual budget?
And maybe clarify if you are mainly going to SF or SJ (as I mentioned on your other thread, SJ is NOT a reasonable base for touring SF)

I have stayed several times recently at the Fairmont - I am in their president's club for what it's worth. It is superior but you must stay in the rooms that have been re-furbished.
I have also recently stayed in the St Claire - not in the same league as the Fairmont.
Both hotels have very good customer service.
Les than 30 minutes south of San Jose is San Martin and there is the very nice CordeValle Resort.
