$5 and $6 parking rate at BWI
I posted this in another thread..but this rate is really low. The service is great. A shuttle follows you as you park your car so there is no wait. On return, the shuttle drops you right off at your car.
With a coupon, the rate is $5 on weekends and $6 during the week.

Dick...I fly out of BWI every year so I hate to sound ignorant but is this the airport affiliated blue lot (I know the other one across the street is the green one)or is this a privately owned lot and something altogether different? The price looks great and I need to park for 11 days in early April!

Karen,
It's a private lot...very large.
I have used it many times. It is cheaper than the official sattelite lots. I like not having to wait for the bus in the official lots....this van follows you as you park. The lot is locate din the area that seems to include most of the airport hotels.
I will be using it again this week.
Note...Althought I drive up Rt 95 and take the road to BWI, I get off at the BW Parkway and go one quick exit to West Nursery Park Rd. At the top of the ramp you turn right(yes that means you are going east on West Nursery Park Rd) and the lot is about a mile on your right.

How does it work when you get back to BWI? Do you call them to pick you up? I checked out their website and the coupons are only valid through the end of March and as luck would have it, we leave April 1st. I hope they update their website. I'm also trying to think...the BWI lot offers the 7th day free, do you know if this place does that as well?

I have been using their cou[pons for about a year....so I would expect them to post new ones.
I don't believe that they offer the 7th day free.
You pick up the van upon arrival just like the other parking shuttles. Their van seems to come more often and the van will take you right to your car.

I use airport fast park myself. The website is www.airportfastpark.com. Im a member (got my card in mail in a few days), you insert your card at the gate/dont take a ticket. After so many visits, u get free days, etc... The blue lot is off of west nursery rd, after u come in the gate, the attendant tells u what row to go down and you park. a shuttle will follow you to your car and get your luggage. He will give u a tag with your parking space on it which you will need when you return, just give it to the driver so he knows where you are parked. There is 3 spots at BWI to wait for the shuttle, spot 1 near the southwest gate is kinda blocked and been moved since the ongoing construction. usually takes 5 min to get to/from the airport with no problems. Reg the price is 9 bucks a day but they usually have updated 5(weekend) and 6 bucks(daily) coupons on their website. this is not associated with the blue/green lots at BWI off aviation blvd. in my opinion, its a much better parking experience.

Thanks to Dick and bluestructure for all your great information. I checked out the website but it doesn't indicate whether it costs anything to become a member...I don't want to go through the whole process if there's a fee involved (since we only use BWI about once a year).

Karen,
I've used the lot a number of times and just found out about becoming member to get benefits.
It's free to become a member..but anyone you use the lot on a cash or credit basis without joining anything.
I'll be using it tomorrow.
