4 seasons or GW??
We are taking a big family trip for my mom's 60th. We are trying to pick the best reasort for everyone-hard to do!
We will have all ages with us- kids ages of 2,3, 7 and 18 plus all the "big" people.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated. We want something special and think that either one of these hotels would fit the bill!

With all those kids, I think you're going to want the GW (Grand Wailea) If you're staying at the Four Seasons and the kids get a look at the Grand Wailea's pool complex, you'll never hear the end of it! GW is louder, more crowded, and not as upscale as the Four Seasons, but is better for familes, IMHO. The pool area is second to none.
However, the Four Seasons is right next door, has some terrific restaurants, and they share the same fantastic beach.
Would you consider putting the guest of honor at the 4 Seasons, and the families at the GW? Might be more trouble than its worth, but if everyones in good health, its only a 10 minute walk along the beach, I think. If your mother would appreciate the elegance of the 4 seasons, its an option. On the flip side, the Grand Wailea has great spa facilities.
The 4 Seasons does have a pretty impressive game room for the kids, but if you're in Hawaii, you don't want them spending all day in there.
My mom stayed with us at the Grand Wailea a few Christmases ago, and loved it. Have a great trip!
