36 hours in Nashville, what to do?
Attending a wedding in Nashville next weekend. Get in Friday morning, need stuff to do Friday day, night, Saturday morning.
Suggestions? More specific the better. I'm with my husband but we have other friends flying in Friday morning also we will hook up with at some point. SIngles and couples, 30s & 40s, no kids. Like to walk/tour, drink/party/eat, country music. Thanks!

Take a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum & the Ryman Auditorium (former home of the Grand Ole Opry). They are both downtown within a three block walk of each other.
If you are interested, maybe you can get last minute tickets for a Grand Ole Opry performance (now plays at Opryland).
As for food, Nashville has this type of meal known as "Meat & Three." It offers a selection of different types of entrees plus three side dishes and costs about $6!!!!! We went to Sylvan Park near Vanderbilt University for our meal & it was great.

If you have a car, take a ride to Cheekwood - though it is not the best time of year for the botanical gardens, it is a great place to wander. I love the Japanese Garden. The museum section is small, but quite interesting. Besides you get to ride past some pretty impressive real estate along the way.

The Hillsboro Villiage area near Vanderbilt has some interesting shops and restauarants.
Centennial Park is a great visit esp since they've recently cleaned/spruced it up. The Parthenon museum is here as well.
Most everything up the Vanderbilt area/West End is pretty neat and you're realativly near there staying on music row....Great restaurants in this area include the Noshville Deli, San Antonio Taco Co, and the SOuth Steet Shack.
Downtown/Distric/2nd Ave would be an interesting walk-about on Friday night. Lots of clubs, restauarants, etc. There are some "honkey-tonks" up and down Broadway in this area .The aforementioned Country Mx Hall of Fame and the Ryman are here as well.
Most visitors to Nashville go and walk around the inside of the Opryland Hotel.

Try dinner at the Mad Platter. Make sure you order the chocolate Elvis. Also, take a stroll through the Farmer's Market and eat at the Swett's counter for a wonderful "meat and three" type meal. Check out the Frist Museum and have a snack in their cafe. They also have a wonderful gift shop if you need to get unusual Christmas presents.
