3 hr.layover in Honolulu, what to do?

We will have a 3 hr. layover in Honolulu before continuing on to Maui. Is there anything to do close to the airport? I would appreciate any suggestions!

given security and all, just mellow out at the pretty buddhist garden near international. it's outdoors and peaceful (but hard to find). by the time you could get anywhere you'd have to get back in line.

I agree--given that it is often recommended that you check in 1 1/2 to 2 hours before a flight, three hours isn't much time to leave the airport.

Upon arival in Honolulu go straight to the interisland terminal and see if your airline has a flight leaving earlier for Maui. There is a good chance you can get on that flight. And there is also a good chance your bags will be on that flight too as luggage is loaded onto the next available flight which may not be the one you have reservations for. Many times I have arrived at a neighbor island to find my luggage has arrived before me!
