3 days travel plan in Las Vegas, please comment.

We 3 guys plan to travel Las Vegas at 21, June.

We have booked AIR + Hotel + Show ticket(25 ea) + Car renting(100 $3 days) via www.vegas.com.

Out schedule is:
1, Arrive at Las Vegas at 8:30 AM. Then get our car and check in hotel. Travel around the Vegas city and see night show at night.

2, Drive to Grand Canyon. We also consider visit other place, such as Fire Valley or Navajo Canyon. So we may stay one night in Grand Canyon. It's a pity we will leave one night empty in Vegas Hotel.

3, Drive to somewhere else near Vegas, return to Airport at about 2:00 PM.

We have following concern:
1, Do you have some suggestions on the Night show?
2, If we rent car by this way, is there anyone pick up us from the airport? What's the normal way to rent car in Vegas?
3, Any suggestions for my 3rd day travelling? How about my plan to stay in Grand Canyon?

Thank you very much.

I wouldn't go to the Grand Canyon if this is your first trip to Vegas. When you get there you will be so overwhelmed with the madness that is Vegas that you will not want to leave. That is more for a seperate trip or after you've been to Vegas before. If you have to go the the canyon I would recommend taking a chopper tour over there. Expensive but well worth it as you won't miss a day in Vegas.

Any show you go to will be great. I recommend Love at the Mirage or The Improv at Harrah's for something cheaper yet still fun.

I would also not recommend renting a car. You will rarely use it. Taking a cab everywhere on the strip is way faster and easier. I would only rent a car on a day I had to use it like driving out of the city. Most of the hotels on the strip have rental car companies in them, just ask the front desk. But picking one up at the airport when you arrive is probably the easiest way to get one.

And besides if it's three guys going I say just pary and soak in the whole Vegas experience. Forget the Grand Canyon, that's something you do with your girlfriend or grandma or something.

I agree with the previous poster. Except for the part about visiting the Grand Canyon with your grandma or girlfriend)
Where are you coming from? What hotel are you staying at? What show did you find for $25? or was that your budget? What are your interests for this trip?
The Grand Canyon is a trip unto itself that could include the Fire Valley and Navajo Canyon. If that is what you are interested in...then stay at or near the Grand Canyon, not Las Vegas!
Las Vegas deserves all the nights.
Shows #1 Love at the Mirage (if you love the beatles) $$$ Or just catch some fun comedy stuff like Harrahs.
If you stay in Vegas...do not rent a car..too much for parking$$ and if you pace yourself you can walk much of strip in 3 days!!
Have fun and answer my questions if you want to. Tina

Totally agree with previous posters. If you've never been there - Vegas is just too cool not to spend the 3 days there - and why waste money on hotel rooms you're not staying in...... Shows - as mentioned - are great - and of course, any Cirque (except Rah - didn't like that one so much). Visiting each of the casinos is interesting.... Have fun.

Generally agree with others, but it might be worth a trip out of Vegas to see Hoover Dam. It's about 45 min. to an hour to get there if I remember correctly. You could rent a car from the airport when you arrive, drive out to Hoover Dam, check into hotel later and return your car to a rental car company at one of the hotels on the strip the next day - saving a few days rental. Check with some of the rental companies - they have places in some of the hotels. Some don't charge extra to rent at airport and return to different location within Vegas or vise versa. We did this last summer - rented from one in the Bellagio and returned it to the airport a few days later.

P.S. - To the contrary regarding parking - most hotels have large self-parking lots that absolutely FREE.

Thank you all. Now I get a more clear picture of Vegas. It seems we'd spend more time in Vegas. Then except the show, what else is interesting in Vegas?

Special Thanks to Tinabina. Here come the answer to your question:
Where are you coming from?
- We come from Dallas.

What hotel are you staying at?
- We choose to stay in Circus Circus Las Vegas.

What show did you find for $25? or was that your budget?
- I got wrong info. We plan to spend 50-80$ each for the show.

What are your interests for this trip?
- Actually Grand Canyon was our first target. But now we may take chopper tour there. Generally, we want to see sth. special in USA.

Thanks again.

From your postings, I'll bet you don't live in Dallas or aren't originally born in the US. Where are you actually from?

There are so many interesting things to do in Vegas besides gambling. Just checking out all the hotels on the strip and their various free things will take more than 3 days. So just get there and then you can plan what to do. If you plan ahead of time, I'll bet it will change once you see how much their is to see and do.

ENJOY !!
