3 days in Paris or 5?

Help! I have reservations all over the place! I know I love Paris, but it's my husband's first time there. Leaving this Saturday. Will arrive 9:30 a.m. and do Rodin Museum and Seine cruise; Monday and Tues., the hop-on, hop-off bus. Now the question: Spend Wednesday and Thursday in Paris, going back to the neighborhoods we like (no museums for us; he can't walk) or take the Tues. 9pm train to Monaco (or Marseilles/Nice/ or what?) and arrive early in the morning. Stay overnight, and take the train back. Or: use the Railpass (2-days for $99) to go to Nancy and/or Strasbourg? The weather forecast, by the way, is rainy every day, everywhere, highs of 50 (Paris), 60 (Provence) and 40 (Strasbourg). Please help!

You may get more help if you post this on the Europe, rather than US, board.

good luck!

Wrong time of year to hit the Riviera. Much of it shuts down in late fall/winter. Monaco is pretty, though not particularly easy to traverse. Marseilles is a place to pass through, not visit.

There are numerous museums in Paris no larger than the Rodin, such as the Marmottan in the 16th, which focuses on Monet, Moyen Age (Middle Ages) in the 5th and the Picasso in the 4th (and a zillion other specialized ones such as wine (du Vin)), as well as monuments and parks that are more or less accessible, such as Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, Luxembourg Gardens and Tuileries. You might enjoy a nightime bus tour of the city and its monuments.

You may find much more advice on the european board.

First, why not ask your husband what he'd prefer? Since he has a hard time walking, wherever you decide to be (Paris or..) I'd consider hiring a private tour guide with a car. Michael Osman is often recommended here.

What about a day trip from Paris? Versailles or Chantilly/Senlis? Here's a good thread with lots of options

I feel there is never enough time for visiting Paris regardless if this is your first time or 125th. IMHO three days is just not enought to introduce Paris to those who you love. You need to take time so you both can enjoy it. Have fun.
