3 Day Cruise

We've done a 3 day cruise twice from Miami to Nassau. It's fun but if you don't already live near a port (I do), I wouldn't recommend it for just 3 days. If you have to pay for a flight to get to the port, make it worth your while and take a 7 day cruise instead.

I agree with Lenore. Depends on how far you have to travel to the port of embarkation. If you live in the southeast, then go for it. I wouldn't recommend it if you have to take a long flight. Keep in mind that temperatures in the Bahamas can be cold in Jan or Feb. It's not as consistently warm as the Caribbean.

We was on a Florida to Bahamas cruise in May. We will not go back because the people on the ship were smelly, dirty and loud. No one lined up properly for the dinner seating and some men even kept the hats on while eating. They even tried to pack more people into a dinner table then it was set for to keep the people together. The trip left a bad taste in my mouth and we promised ourselves no more cheap trips like that.

It's not only the 3 day cruises-we went on a 7 day on Royal Caribbean and it was disgusting-I think the ports can make a difference-this went to Jamaica and we wondered if that was part of the appeal to the people that went. I have no problem with casual-in fact, I think they overdo all the dressing for dinner on most cruises-but I was disgusted with all the big fat guys in tank tops with tattoos all over - and the loud drunks and heavy smoking-we had always avoided Carnival because we expected it would be that way but we did try their non-smoking ship (Paradise) and really appreciated the fact that we could spend time in the lounges and even go in the casino without being "smoked out".
