25th anniversary dinner suggestions- Atlanta area
Our 25th anniversary is mid-October of this year. We're going to leave for Hawaii about 5 days after our anniversary; however, we'd like to also go out somewhere on the actual night of our anniversary (the 17th, a Tuesday).
Any suggestions? I've seen the Atlanta gourmet restaurant thread, but we're not really foodies, and I can't imagine spending $200+ on one meal. Any other suggestions? I had thought of Roy's Hawaiian Fusion (since we're going to Hawaii); is that a good idea?
We had also thought of spending the night at the Ritz-Carlton on Oconee Lake but, again, since we're going to Hawaii, we don't really want to spend so much money on lodging, food, etc.
Thanks for any suggestions.

The Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee is really wonderful. It feels more like a New England lodge than something in Georgia. I just love it. Mid-October would be lovely. You can rent the little firepits scattered around the property and even do s'mores! The food is very good - and not that incredibly pricey. Service is fabulous! I love the big fireplace in the lobby. You could even eat there - in front of the fireplace with limited menu from the lobby bar. Nice spa with hot tubs positioned in front of...you guessed it, fireplaces! Can you tell I like the place?
There are casual places to eat within 10 miles or so. Nothing really special but good options.
For a nice meal, I still like Dailey's downtown (save room for the dessert bar) or the Pleasant Peasant in Midtown. I do like the Buckhead Diner. I usually choose from one of the 3 for a good meal that is not over the top in price but always good in quality. If you want to stay in town, Priceline is a good option.

A second vote for Babette's. http://babettescafe.com/ The food is always delicious and the place has a comfortable, romantic feel.
If you decide to spend more, I think your idea of the Ritz is a great one - it is an absolutely beautiful property.

Samsaf, when you make your reservation (I like to use opentable.com ), be sure to note that it is your anniversary.
They will Mr. and Mrs. Samsaf you to death and fall all over you!!
Btw, Happy Anniversary! Just in case I forget.
Oh, and you know what else? If someone gives you an Outback or other gift cards in that group, you can use them at Roy's! Whoopee!
