2003 Spring Training-Fla

Will be in Fla. Mar6-10 for spring training games in Tampa, Winter Haven, Kissimmee (Orlando), and Daytona Beach. Looking for good resturants for "home cooking", or something local, but not necessarily fancy.
We just "good ole' boys" out for some baseball.

This might not be the best place for your restaurant search. Try Chowhound. My favortie line at a restaurant was "If you want home cooking" eat at home.

On the other hand, there are lots of Cracker Barrels all over Florida. Might be what you are looking for. LMF

Hey JMax, I personally would never eat at a Cracker Barrel, just the entry kind of makes me sick... but these guys seemed to be looking for plain "home cooking" for good ole boys.

Certainly not Fodors patch but the guy was just looking for some help I suggested they go to a website where people routinely ask for good "eats".

Circa, there's a restaurant off of I-4 midway between Orlando and Tampa that you might enjoy. It's called the Branch Ranch (you'll see a billboard or two). They have family style Southern food, ham and fried chicken with biscuits veggies and dessert. Not my cup of tea but they have a great reputation, might be just what you're looking for.

In Tampa, try Le Teresita for authentic Cuban food. Try a cuban sandwich and a bowl of yellow rice with black beans and chopped onions over top, mmm!!!
