2 or 3 wineries in Napa Valley

We have only one day in the Napa Valley and I've been advised the Silverado Trail is a good place to visit wineries. However, there are still about two dozen wineries on the trail. Can anyone help me narrow it down to 2 or 3 with great wine and beautiful vineyards? Thanks in advance!

This should give you a good sampling & believe me you will have ample time to do them all...in no particular order...Stags Leap, Regusci, Signorello, Monticello & Goosecross.

I like Goosecross too, and Miner! and then maybe finish with a relaxing glass of bubbles at Mumm's garden terrace.

I had forgotten about Mumm's, a good call indeed.

My vote goes to Domaine Chandon. Also a very nice restaurant there. Cheers! ***kim***

Rombauer if you can find it!

Love Miner wines but never been to the winery. They came up and did a local tasting at our fave wine hang out.....Ahhhhh...Samantha.

Funky one is Van der Heyden.

Did Domaine Chandon move to the Silverado Trail? :-?

No, it's still in Yountville. If it HAS to be on the Silverado Trail, I would choose Sterling or Stag's Leap. Sterling is cool for the enclosed tram ride up to the top to the tasting room. The views are beautiful from their outdoor patio there. Have fun! ***kim***

I'm partial to Peju (near Opus 1), Sterling (love that tram ride) and Cakebread. I've been to each several times and find they give great personal attention to guests.

Cakebread Cellars..we belong to their wine club, and yes, it is a real surname.

Silverado isn't my favorite area, but if you're going, I would have ZD on the top of my list.
