2 nights in Memphis

Maydaughter and I would like to spend 2 nights in Memphis. Where would be a safe place to find a hotel or airbnb in the city? I an not familiar with the neighborhoods. We will also have a car so we need parking. Thank you.

One good area to stay is immediately north of the Beale Street historic strip. The Peabody Hotel is especially close by, if pricey. There are actually several options available in various price ranges.

We loved the Talbot Heirs Guest House, across the street from the Peabody. It's a beautiful apartment for the price of a hotel room.

Thank you for your responses. I did get the impression that the immediate area around Beale st was good.

Where are you coming from? Is it with your own car? The Amtrak "City of New Orleans" arrives early morning every day from Chicago or late night coming from New Orleans. The Amtrak station is across Main Street from the Arcade Restaurant which was an Elvis hangout.
