2 and a half day itinerary

In mid May, Im arriving late on a Friday night and will have Saturday and Sunday then until 1:30 on Monday before we have to get to the airport and head home. I really want to do a swamp tour, see the garden district and French Quarter and have brunch at one of those nice places everybody raves about. Is this way too much for such a short period of time? What have some of you packed in on a long weekend?

joe, why not try reposting with "New Orleans Itinerary" as the title. As you'll see when you look at your post, all that shows as a title is "2 and a half day itinerary" and a lot of people with helpful tips will pass over it. Picking Louisiana from the subject list just helps if you're searching for old posts, not when a new one is displayed

your itinerary sounds fine. don't get loaded on friday night and then book an all day city tour. we saw several plantations, a swamp tour, lunch and a bit of a city tour. it was a full day. then have fun saturday night in the quarter and do your brunch on sunday. you should check if there is a brunch on a boat tour down the river.

Joe,
I've squeezed all of that in on one trip and had a blast! If you do a swamp tour, I highly recommend Captain Terry. He's a native Cajun and marine biologist. Have a great time.
