1st time in Hawaii ~ what are the best things to do

Can anyone advise me of the must see things on the Big Island and Oahu? The activites that I have picked out so far are... Horse back riding, helicopter rides, DUWK tours to Pearl Harbour- we don't want to book to much stuff so we have some free sight seeing time.

As stated prior I am going to the Big Island and Oahu.

Take the hike to the top of Diamondhead...inexpensive and great view from the top. Take a bottle of water along, can get very warm along the path.

Volcanos National Park on the BI and do some of the valley hikes (Waipio, Polulo) to see some magnificent coastline also on the BI

Oahu: Waikiki Beach, Polynesian Cultural Center, and Arizona Memorial.

BI: Volcanoes National Park, Waipio Valley, and Akaka Falls.

Oahu: Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, Maukapuu for body surfing, Mekong for eats, Matsumoto's for shaved ice, outlet mall for shopping, Bishop Museum for culture, Pali Lookout for view and wind, Pali Highway for nice drive, and Ala Moan Center for inexpensive meals (food court and Shirokiya after 3:30 for discounted sushi), and pick up coupon books for discounts.
