1st Anniversary Travel Gift

My husband and I were recently married last November. I am trying to find the perfect anniv. weekend vacation gift. As you know the first gift is paper. I have to top his wedding proposal. This will be our only chance to spend a little quality time together as we are living apart for 6 months right now. He lives in the Southern California and I am in the Gulf Coast area.

Any ideas for the newlyweds. We love seclusion and are very adventurous. I must mention we love the outdoors also. Any ideas for the romantic couple? Plans are around Thanksgiving weekend...Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Gabrielle

I've got the perfect place, particularly in November. My husband and I just got back from Key West--it was the most romantic trip we've ever taken. There are lots of lovely B&Bs or small cottages where you feel like you're 50 miles away from everyone, but when you step out of the door, you're within a short walk of all of bars and restaurants on Duval Street and the rest of the island. There are also lots of opportunities to snorkel and such (although I think you have to take a boat to get there). Not much in the way of beaches--there are a couple, but there's not a lot of sand!

Check out www.keywest.com.

You don't mention price range but since it is only for a long weekend, I would suggest somewhere roughly in between So. Cal. and the gulf coast, maybe in the Southwest -- maybe tickets to Sedona AZ or Santa Fe NM?

San Antonio, Santa Fe,Sedona, Catalina Island, or Lake Arrowhead (near L.A) Choose the lowest airfares and then splurge on the hotel. Congratulations and let us know what you decide. He's lucky to have you.
