Your favorite, toddler-friendly international destination???

Hi Fodorites! My husband and I love to explore and since having our son a year ago, we really haven't been anywhere new and exciting. I'm getting a mean case of wanderlust! I'd love to hear your favorite, atleast somewhat toddler-friendly vacation spots! We're thinking late summer/early Fall 2015, we take this babe (about 18 months then) and skip town for 10-12 days.

Our only parameter is getting there in as few flights as possible (coming from Denver USA) - ideally 2 legs max each way. Any favorite spots that happen to be tiny-people friendly? Great food, interesting culture, and maybe a playground? a restaurant or two with a high chair? I can tell you all about us but I like to think we're pretty open and laid back. Lay it on me - whatcha got?

Well, I see from your profile that Italy is a favorite destination, and Greece is a place you'd really like to visit. I'd repost this on the Europe board. Wherever you go there are likely to be locals traveling with their kids.

At 18 months, I don't think it matters where you go. He's too young to remember much, so go wherever you like. Someplace warm with some water for him to splash in would be fun. I would suggest something not over-taxing for the little guy - so maybe a condo where he can stay on a schedule while still having fun. I would suggest that you aren't on the go-go-go all the time....DisneyWorld would be a bit much for someone that young. New York would be too much. Most restaurants have high-chairs, but you can always take a portable one, or let him sit in his stroller most anywhere. I've found the key is to keep it simple. A place where he can have some freedom, stay on schedule, eat regularly, sleep well.....makes a happy vacation for all.

A condo or Hotel del Coronado on the beach in San Diego with outings to Sea World and the zoo perhaps? I think that was one of the first trips we did with our daughter.

Thanks! TC - Hotel Coronado looks gorgeous and that would definitely be an easy flight... but were looking to get out of the country this time.

Starrs - always down for Paris! Good to know!

Well it's not exactly "international" but have you been to Hawaii? It's incredibly kid friendly.
