Travel with 13 yr old nephew - need help on where please!
I told my nephew when he turns 13, we will go anywhere in the world he wants to go, (under 3 conditions - 1. Must be somewhere he's never been, 2. Must be safe and 3. Must have parents' approval on where)
Soon he'll be 13 and I'm totally blocked on where to go. We aren't going to do a cruise, can't go to England, France or Italy.
When I asked him what he likes, he said fishing, mythology, science, snorkeling, theater and eating different foods. I'll add that he's highly energetic, so sitting around on a beach is out.
We don't have to go somewhere that has all of that, but I'd like to do most of it (if not all).
Oh, also the time of year is not relevant.
I would greatly appreciate any opinions or advice. Thank you very much in advance!

Welcome to Fodors. NiceAunt/Uncle!
Greece jumps to mind.
Or Southeast Mexico.
Or maybe someplace like Bali.
Each would cover several of your criteria.
Once you've narrowed things down a bit you get lots of advice if you post specific questions on the various geographic forums (Europe, Asia, etc) See the "Change Forum" pull down menus? That will move you to those board -- reading some trip reports on those boards might trigger more ideas for you.

You know, I think I might very well lead him toward Greece. What a great idea!!! I may come up with an alternate idea as well, but it sounds like Greece is the place.
Thanks, and I'll hop over to that board soon, and will be back here if I change my mind.
Appreciate it.

Greece would be wonderful. Look into spending some time on a boat sailing in the Greek Islands. That would tick the boxes for fishing, snorkeling, eating, and even mythology if you're with the right person. In fact, sailing has a lot of science to it...so he might learn a bit of that as well.
