Hi Verbaslt

what a coincidence as I too am turning 40 next July & am also planning to spend my 40th on foreign soil but also am not sure where. Perhaps we could plan something together if you are keen?

Europe is great in summer... Paris, Venice, Amsterdam... whatever interests you.

I vacation most often in Mexico, but August is not the best weather for that.

What do you enjoy? Outdoor activities? History? Architecture? Cuisine? etc.

What is your budget? And how long do you want to be there?

Right now the budget is up in the air but I am thinking about $3000 or so. 10 days is a good time frame for me to be away. And I am open to whatever, I like the history, cuisine, night life you name it. I just dont want to be any where w/ unbearable heat or too many people.

How about Canada? I love Ottawa in August. It's a nice city, usually in the 80's and with that budget you could rent a car and split your time between Ottawa and Quebec City or Montreal or Toronto or Niagara Falls...

Even in August, Ottawa isn't unbearably crowded.

Hi again Verbaslt,

My birthday is on 27 July so I'm planning to travel late July or early August. I was thinking of going to Ireland but then again there's other places like Czecholavakia that also seems appealing but as yet, I havent made a decision.
