Presents for young american teens from Australia!
Hi all,
Heading to the USA at the end of this week and visiting some friends in SFO. We want to bring over some gifts for the kids (3 kids roughly under 15) but unsure what the best thing to take over is - 1 girl and 2 young boys!
HELP!

Hi Flighty!
I usually deal with this in REVERSE!
Easy Peasy -- anything involving Aussie animals is sure to be a bit hit. I normally include clip on koalas with my clients' documents and people love them (adults too).
Candy -- while we get Cadbury here, we don't get the different varities that you have - like the frog ones. Anything else you'd bring (peanut slab, etc) would be a complete novelty.
CD's - that can be tricky, what with tastes in music, but if they like rock - they'd probably be interested in a top Aussie band.
Let us know how it works out!

Fantastic ideas. For the younger boys I think something kind of novelty like a door hanging with a 'watch out for kangaroos' and maybe some opal earrings for the teenage girl and then lots of Aussie chocolates like freddo's and of course tim tams.. any other types you cant get in the US?

Fantales! I have seen a set of Aussie shaped things - e.g. Kanagroo from House! The young kids would like to make them. Caramelo bears are popular. I took bags to my young niece and nephew in Canada and they took a pack to school for show and tell. The kids didn't wait to open em. As we were leaving their school we could see the wrappers littering the school yard!!
I have seen cupcake packet mix that also includes an edible sticker thing that has a koala on it. I think it was a koala. It was a perfect treat as I planned to send them to someone I met in Egypt!
I hate those yellow diamond signs saying baby on board.. you know the type. However, an older friend of mine has one of those pinned up in her Philadelpia "Australian Room" and she just loves it.
