Pouches for packing

I have seen these advertised in a couple of places. Has anyone used them? Do they really save space? Thank you.

Remember you can make items smaller, but that just makes the overall capacity of the suitcase when full... heavier!

Some people use them for everything. Some not at all. Some just for dirty clothes on the way home. All different approaches.

Yes, they save space.

There was a post on this forum not too long ago that you might find helpful:

Sorry about the bad link in the previous message (I remembered I had responded to the previous discussion and found it by going through my responses). This link should take you to the right thread:

I use ziplocks in all sizes. They do the same thing, cost less and they seem to be more durable.
A friend bought packing pouches an a couple of them ripped after the 2nd use. I've been using the same ziplocks for some time.

Fodorites never fail to amaze me.. I think I rely on you all more than I Google!! I followed the line from Beachdream3 (love that name) and now know much more than I did! I had not (duh) thought about packing more being heavier - talk about needing help! Definitely like the idea of putting underwear, etc. in big see through zip bags.. thank you all

The first time I used the large ziplock method to pack, I didn't realize it either.

That was also the first time my 22" suitcase was denied as a carry-on!

I use pouches, nylon & net, & I got them from Magellan. I do better when I am really organized.
I like the smaller ones, putting electronic items in them, so I can keep track. Another one for undies/pj's/sox. I use the larger one for dirty items or souvenirs. (Not for both of course).
