Need some tips about safe travelling in India for women.
Hi there, my girl-cousin who lives in Canada wants to travel to India alone, despite my pleas to the contrary. Can anyone suggest any safety precautions she should take? I'm very disturbed by reports of crimes against women in India.

Hi dokuman. With all the recent crime report it's understandable that you would be worried! I can give you two very basic tips:

1) Dressing modestly will help as this is considered respectful in India.

2) Avoiding any eye contact unless necessary

think about joining a smart tour to India and going with a group of women like The Women's Travel Group from the US.
