Honeymoon in hawaii

Hi,

We have booked a 2 week honeymoon to hawaii. We are going on a cruise the "Pride of Aloha" & staying at the "kanapali Beach Hotel" in Maui the 2nd week.

After reviewing the websites, we feel as though we made a mistake with both choices. We are 28 years old & we were looking for something in our age group as well as something more modern.

PLEASE HELP any suggestions???

Spending several days at the Hotel Hana Maui with one of those cabins with the hottubs on the deck would be a lovely secluded honeymoon spot. I think the cruise ship is icky and too old for you.

Kaanpali Beach hotel has absolutely nothing wrong with it. People love that hotel. You almost can't go wrong with a hotel in maui. If you change hotels more than likely you will be paying a lot more money. I had tons of people stay at that hotel and always have had great reviews of it and people ask to go back and stay there again! Food good if you got the free breakfast they over with their rooms in most categories...it's right on kaanpali parkway next to the westin and whaler's village...I would say if going to change hotels go for the hyatt or maybe the sheraton in kaanapali...advantage of the sheraton or westin is they are both starwood hotels, stay at one, play at all is their motto..you can use things at the westin if staying at the sheraton or vice versa (pool priveledges not included) and they have free shuttles inot lahaina for their guests as well as between all starwood properties, well all 3 of them anyways..that would be my suggestion if you are switching hotels..starwood gives a little added benefit in there..but my opinion the KBH is just fine.

the Kaanapali Beach Hotel has a good location but the hotel is tired and in desperate need of a makeover. Not your typical "fun" hotel, but close to those that are.

Don't fret! You'll enjoy it thoroughly. Just make up your mind and don't let your mind vaccilate.

There really isn't one hotel that's "younger and hipper" than the other in Maui. It's all pretty relaxed and mellow. If you want crazy party scene, go to Oahu.

I think you'l enjoy Maui though. Just be prepared to cruise and take it easy. There are also tons of really fun activities to do on the islands. Some of them are a little hipper than others, like ziplining, surf lessons, helicopter rides. http://www.hawaiianstyleactivities.com has some good ones. I'd also look for a hiking trip that takes you down waterfalls on ropes. I think this is new to Maui, kinda like rock climbing. Kaanapali is great, but it's touristy and mellow like the rest of the island. Kihei has some good bar life as well as Lahaina. Have fun, and don't worry!
