Honeymoon

My husband and I are trying to plan our honeymoon for late December/early January. We were originally thinking Maui, Hawaii but may not have enough time off to do that trip, we also think we want to spend less money. So any thoughts on a romantic honeymoon that offers some of the same beautiful nature & scenery as Maui that is maybe not so pricey and could be done in 5-7 nights instead of 10+. We are flying out of Boston. I would like a place that has things do to as well as nice beaches. All inclusive is an option. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi there,

I would suggest some of the Caribbean destinations, such as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica or Costa Rica. They are cheaper than Hawaii and they still offer beautiful beaches and great resorts. Best of luck!

Mexico's Riviera Maya offers many all inclusive options. For a honeymoon an adults only resort would be great.
You don't give a budget or say if night life is important. Look into Royal HIdeaway. It is an adults only AI with great service, beautiful beach, somewhat quiet. Also look into Catalonia Royal Tulum. Another AO/AI on a great beach. It is a very quiet resort. Again, don't know your budget, but the Iberostar Paraiso Grand is a fantastic adults only AI.

Another vote for Mayan Riviera, the Caribbean coast of Mexico. You'd fly into Cancun. Then have the choice of staying there or going on to Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Akumal, or Tulum.

If you wanted to stick with the Hawaii idea, you could go to Oahu for 7 days. You'll find a wide assortment of hotels in Waikiki, many of them at reasonable prices (cheaper than Maui). Plus you don't necessarily need a rental car on Oahu like you do on any other island. There's also more "cheap eats", free things to see and do there.
