Most of my trips are solo, too many to enumerate, but many posted here:

This is half-a-solo trip: my niece was with me for the first part, but couldn't get the time off from work to do the whole thing.

I've been reading these really well-written accounts of a professor's solo travels in Italy, France, and theUK.

Woah. You really had such nice memories to cherish and you chose to travel alone without any fear leaving your own country. I hope I have that kind of courage since I am that kind of person who needs a company whenever I travel to different countries. I have here a bucket list for travel destinations that I want to go this year but I do hope someday I can take out my fear of travelling alone.

Where do you live? How about starting small - just a weekend somewhere? If you live in the US, maybe a trip to Montreal or Quebec City, so you can try being somewhere with a different dominant language? Or you could start by going on a small group tour on your own.

I just spent some time in Estonia and Finland on my own; I finished up with Iceland, but there I was joined by my two nieces! Here's the (solo part finished) trip report with photo links included: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ummer-2017.cfm
