Hi All,

Its my first trip to Europe and i want to cover my priority list of places that i have always dreamt of.I need help to plan 30 days Europe travel route for following destinations: London, Iceland, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Swiss alps, Rome, Venice & Athens. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated .

Looks like you are new to Fodors, welcome. Thirty days may sound like a long trip but once you start plugging in the things you want to visit in each location and calculating the travel times between you may wonder that you don't have enough time for all you want to do.

I am guessing you have done some research to know you want to visit these places so now it's time to look more seriously at what you want to see in each one and how much time you want to allow. You've got an average of 3 days for each but some of that will be eaten up by travel time. If you are set on all of them then fly open jaw and start or end in Athens which will be less convenient than some of the others on your list. Perhaps 2 days in Venice will be enough for a first visit while one could easily spend a week (or more) each in Paris, London and Rome.

Consider visiting London, Paris, Amsterdam, Swiss Alps, Venice and Rome on this trip to time to appreciate what these places offer. If you are too rushed to enjoy a stroll along the Seine or a boat to Murano you'll be missing some of what makes these places so special.

Actually - your first thread is on the right (Europe) forum. This one is for general 'Travel Tips'. Although Scootoir did respond here, more people will actually see/read your questions on the other board.

Thank you for your feedback & suggestions, I got the same response from other forums also. I have taken iceland from the list now . The revised plan looks like this :

Arrive at London : 5 days > depart via eurostar
Paris : 4 days > depart Via Eurail
Amsterdam : 3 days> depart via night train
prague : 4 days > depart via night train
Swiss Alps :5 days >depart via rail europe
Venice : 3 days >depart via rail europe
Rome : 4 days > fly
Athens : 5 days > fly back home.

Please let me know if the new plan sounds right? Thank you again !!

Mehul: You got responses to the new plan on your thread on the Europe forum. I am a bit confused -- your OP says it is a 30 day trip, but this plan is more like 35 days including your flights. You need to count nights, not days.
