Fussy..congratulations, dear! You made me chuckle. I'm sorry to hear you've had such bad luck with pricey hosts. I haven't but, I love my sheets so much, I do think about taking them. Unfortunately, some piece of camera equipment takes priority. I do take my pillows, though. Not only are they great padding in my luggage they help the quality of my sleep and prevent neck aches.

I could tell you lots of luggage ingredient secrets of celebrities but then they wouldn't travel with me. Sorry, I'm not about to end that fun.

What happened to NYfood snob? There was something recent about hotels not changing their sheets and not doing the extra cleaning with covid. I think bringing a pillow case is a good thing now.

During the stay or between guests? I can't imagine anyone would not be changing sheets etc between guests.

I remember this thread, and at the time it was first published I’d never packed any bed linen for a hotel stay. Fast forward to 2023 and I now take my own pillowcase everywhere, even when staying with friends and relatives. Funny, I am so much less fussy about most things the older I get but the pillowcase …. non negotiable.

Thanks for directing our attention to this oldie but goodie, Bokhara.

Either I don't remember this thread (entirely possible given my memory) or I missed this during its first few rounds. Love it!

Wow, how I miss the old Fodors. I just went down the rabbit hole with this one. And, yes, I take a silk pillowcase and down travel pillow and have for years.
