To piggy back off of BaldOne:

On arrival to San Antonio, TX, while the taxi driver was taking me to my hotel, I was asked why I was visiting. I said, I came to take a run to the border and go to Taco Bell. It was a joke but on my. He told me no, no no. There are better Mexico restaurants than Taco Bell and was very serious. I asked where he suggested as I was joking.

The poor food is probably the top reason that I have not yet gone to Cuba!!

Those grasshoppers in Oaxaca!!! I had some inside the Abastos Market, where a vendor made me a taco with grasshoppers. They tasted ok but I'm afraid my body did not agree...threw. up right there and then in front of the seller!

But all those insects are ok if you can get away from thinking about what you are eating and get over the texture which, of course, reminds you of what you are eating!

Speaking of Italy, menus in the south often offer horse and donkey...donkey is a real delicacy and the meat is very sweet and delicious

Went to Cuba as a high school senior on an 'educational' trip. The tour was set up to educate us all about Cuban realities and was the polar opposite of lazing at the beach.
The breakfasts were so bad that by midweek none of us bothered to go. Talkin' multiple flies mixed in watery scrambled eggs.

I am done. the non-breakfast

Do you try new foods when traveling?

I would definitely love to try new foods when traveling. Exploring the local cuisine is one of the best parts of experiencing a new place. From street food to fine dining, I would be eager to sample all the delicious flavors and dishes that each destination has to offer. Trying new foods is not only a way to satisfy hunger but also a way to connect with the culture and traditions of a place. So yes, I would be adventurous and open-minded when it comes to trying new foods while traveling.
