For someone who thinks so little of the people who post on this forum, I'd think you could find something better to do with your time.

Hobbart: A person would take a laxative 2 days before traveling to minimize the possibility of the biological urge striking during a 12-hour flight, riding a camel through Wadi Rum, on a boat on Inle Lake, on a safari in Yala reserve, etc... It's a prophylactic approach.

Esme_Travels- thanks for the explanation. It's not something I'll be doing, but I appreciate the reply.

How do I nominate a response as 'Response of the Year'?

I know some people like to pre-plan their travels. But adding pre-planning when you will crap has to be the ultimate in travel planning.

For once, I'm with dulcius. I have been known on rare occasions to take imodium if I'm having intestinal difficulty and need to travel, but laxatives??? No, thanks. (But then, I've survived heading with the rest of a bus load of people for nearest apology for a bush, women to the left of the road, men to the right. Not a problem.)

Esme, although I tend to be skeptical of bloggers who post links, I think yours is well done and serves a particular market (the female traveler who likes adventure + luxury). I know the Peru one has been helpful to many nervous first timers.

With my health plan they suggest a few months out. Some meds can be in short supply (ie typhoid oral) or special order.

Carry on!

"Make mental notes when you turn off your appliances and lock your doors so you don’t drive yourself crazy wondering if you did it later."
Mental notes don't help me. How many times have we turned around after 5 -10 minutes on the way to the airport just to double check? I now have a list (short) of things to check before we leave. It's on my computer to be printed (water off? windows locked? front door locked etc...) and I check off each item with a pen. Since I've begun this, no going crazy ever. Two minutes of work for many minutes (hours...days...)of calm.
