Alone in Paris till 1st of May

I am in Paris staying with a friend but he is working all day... so I am touring on my own. Anyone else out there want to do some sightseeing together. Let me know. I thought about going to Bordeaux or to Versaille as well.

By the way... my name is Don and I am 27 years old.

Don,
I don't know how many replys you will get for sightseeing but can I please recommend that you search the Europe forum for suggestions about places to visit on your own.

Versaille is certainly possible in a day but if you want to go to Bourdeaux you would, IMO be better to stay a couple of days. The TGV is fast but to see anything of the area you would need a few days or a weekend.

Also, Don check out the fat tire tours. You could hook up with a group for the day. I think they might have a Versailles tour. I know they have a Giverney one that sounds fun.

You might also post over on Lonely Planet's BB called the Thorn Tree, they have both a Western Europe branch, and one specific for finding traveling companions.

I personally can think of nothing better than to be alone in Paris. There are so many wonderful museums to get lost in, wonderful cafes to sit and drink coffee/wine and read a book or just people watch. I would even do Versailles on my own, since I have been there twice already. Don't forget to go up the Eiffel Tower -- you will be in a crowd and not be lonely!
Your situation is pas de probleme'
