What is it like living in Cajamarca?

I may be moving to Peru in March of 2011 for a job there and was curious what is like to live in this city, Cajamarca. Can you give me an idea of the expense of housing either say a house or an apartment. TIA

I know a couple of people who have lived there but about 3 years ago. There is a small expat community as there are people working in mining and dairy projects there. It is nice countryside around the town, but the town itself is limited. I think that if you make the most of your spare time to explore the area and enjoy outdoor activities, it would be fine. If you need the stimulation of city activities, it is obviously not a good choice. There must be an expat website for Perú where you might find others living there who could tell you about prices. This forum is really for temporary visitors.
