Places to stay in Salta Province and San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Having finalised ( well almost) our plans to travel from Bolivia into NW Argentina and on to Chile I could do with some suggestions for places to stay in the following towns. For some of them we will probably just find a room on arrival rather than book but it is always nice to have somewhere to head for.

We are heading initially for Salta then a circuit of south of the city taking in Cafayate, Cachi, Chicoana. We may also head north to Purmarca and Humahuaca ( or maybe jump off the bus at these towns on the way down). Any suggestions gratefully received likewise for San Pedro de Atacama.
We stayed at San Lorenzo outside of Salta the last time but want to stay in the city this time.

Any other suggestions for the region will be gratefully received.

We also stayed at Hotel Killa in Cafayate and loved it.

In Cachi we stayed at MiraLuna which was about 14km outside of Cachi. http://www.miraluna.com.ar

In Tilcara we stayed at Rincon de Fuego

Looking forward to reading about NW ARG.

many thanks to both of you, I am checking these out.
LOL! Elizabeth, never too late to learn. 5 years is a long time since we were there and I had completely forgotten about Molinos, a very special place I recall taking one of my all time favourite photos there of the church in the square. Thanks for reminding me.

I really enjoyed my stay at Atacamadventure and Wellness Ecolodge in San Pedro de Atacama. There's a link and a trip report here:

Staying in the Atacama was a wonderful experience.

Thanks to both of you. These places do look fantastic but are sadly out of our price range for this very long trip although I have emailed ellagar as their rates are not online. Who knows, I may be pleasantly surprised!
