Peru and Easter Island Help

Hey all

myself and husband to be are heading to Easter Island and then onto Lima/Cusco/Juliaca for our honeymoon in August for 17 days.

can anyone shed some light on what to pack and travel essentials??
we would like to travel as light as possible but have enough to keep us goin. We are being posh and hotel staying if thats any use info wise.

any hints or tips would be really appreciated.

thanks

Not sure how relevant this will be as we tend not to travel "posh" these days, but here is a link to my own packing list for six months in South America traveling Leigh with carry on only. https://accidentalnomads.com/2016/05...ck-like-a-man/

I have been nagging my wife to get her list posted and I think she may even be close to finishing! , if she does I will post a link here ( or you can sign up for auto updates on our blog) .

I don’t know about Easter island but Peru is a pretty casual place. It is important to remember that Juliaca and Cusco are at high altitude so it can get cold at night, but hot during the the day. The sun is very strong so good sunglasses, sunscreen and hats are essential.

PS not sure why you would want to go to Juliaca? Presumably you meant Puno for Lake Titicaca.

August will be cold at night in the Andes, especially Puno at 12000 feet altitude (it can even go to freezing overnight). Lima can be cool and foggy at that time also. Pack something warm. You can buy hats and gloves if you forget to pack them. Not much precipitation that time of year so a cheap plastic poncho may work out.

Definitely pack the sunglasses, sunscreen and hats..even when overcast in Lima, you need sunscreen.

Typically attire in Lima will be jeans, a jacket and scarf and smart trainers. Strangely, hats are not worn, but if you are very fair I'd still do it.
