Flying to Peru? Check your flights!

There is construction at Lima airport on the runways, I just checked my return flight and found that they had a "Schedule Change" notice on my reservation. (Flight is moved up an hour earlier).

Had to call in and reconfirm with change of seat assignment ...and they can't even give a new seat number for the flight in Houston that I was already connecting to..will probably be crammed in the middle seat. Or maybe I can tthough a hissy and get upgraded to the wider seats for free.

Thanks a lot United.

Our return flight from Lima to Newark has been delayed an hour, giving us 34 minutes to make our connecting flight to Montreal. That would be fun to try. I thought illegal connections were flagged in the system.

Having waited a month for Continental to notice this, I thought I better phone. I am currently on the phone with Continental. The fellow said "Oh no that is definitely not doable. I'll have to change that."

Total phone call length to this minute - 75 and counting.

Thanks for asking FYB. The Continental chap was very pleasant. He put us on hold for so long that the confirmation email with our new Newark-Montreal flight arrived 20 minutes before he came back on the line to announce he had solved the problem.

Now if can avoid Houston on the way down ...
