Cusco hotel tips
My husband and I are going there in May and want to get some advice on what hotel to choose.
We are in our 30's and in great shape so walking the steep hills are not an issue. We would prefer a quiet location around $60-100 US. Any thoughts on Casona Les Pleiades or Rumi Punku or others?

We spent several weeks in the in The Sacred Valley living mostly in a bungalow in Urumbamba but we stayed in several different places in Cusco some very basic an some very nice. One of the best was http://www.torredorada.com/en/ which is a way from the centre but they have a really efficient shuttle service to and from town (about 10 mins). This place is the highest rated on TA (for what that is worth!!) but it is a really nice place - largish rooms, very comfortable beds and good breakfasts. The staff are very helpful and exceedingly friendly. In a very quiet location in the suburbs
In town Rumi Punku is a good bet, very stylish and in a great location in San Blas - a lot closer to the action than Torre Dorada but Cusco is relatively quiet sort of place (all that walking up the hills all day seems to tire people out!)

We stayed at the Casa Andina, clean, comfortable, with extremely helpful staff, also quiet, even though it was right next to the cathedral. We'd wander around town till late at night and then just walk the short distance back to the hotel, we found this location ideal.

Torre Dorada is so far from the centre
You must SHUTTLE in to the Plaza avoid.
#1 on Tripadvertizer a classic example
of how rewiews are deptive bogus massaged
and rankings faked by an owner controlled
commercially driven site to manipulate
and scam the clueless newbie.
2 best value places
ninoshotel.com from $20 for me in past
walkoninn.com pretty close to the plaza
more hostelly but GREAT price.
