The hike on the glacier is not strenuous. We did it with our ten year old. You will not have anything on your back so that will help. Funny thing is I have back issues too and my back seems to always be in its best shape, after I have been doing 10-12 mile hikes with my heavy day back on-go figure!

I didn't hike the glacier, and I had no trouble filling two days in El Calafate.

I am very glad I visited Iguazu:

I thought the scenery in SA easily outshone the cities.

I have shoulder problems due to too much time reading and with my computers. I am in better shape when I get back from a trip!

Personally I would cut days in Buenos Aires, two is plenty. I would want at least a day or two spread around the itinerary to allow for delays or bad weather.

Thanks all!

Yes I often end up fitter, healthier and feeling better after an active holiday too. I guess when you consider all the time outdoors and not all of it is walking with a pack, it has to be good for your physical and mental health too.

OK so I think I might add one more day in Bariloche so we have four there and one more in El Chalten or Iguazu too. That will slow the rushing and allow us to enjoy the scenery some more.

I've now seen that the Chilean lakes look amazing too. And of course there is Atacama too. There's too much potentially to see!
