Airport Ramada

My wife and I will be arriving in Lima around 11:00pm (mid-July) and flying to Cusco the next day. She has her heart set on spending the night in a gorgeous hotel in Miraflores and taking an early afternoon flight to Cusco. However, I'm getting a bit nervous about the number of cancellations on STAR, TACA and LAN and traffic between Miraflores and the airport, and am leaning toward booking a morning flight and spending the night at the Ramada at the airport. Any thoughts out there about the Ramada (is it safe and clean)? Is there any other nice, safe hotel close (20 minutes or less) from the airport?

The Ramada had a good reputation and is across the street from the airport. Considering the time it is better to spend the night there and take a 10 or 11 am flight to Cusco.

Assuming you coming back through Lima on your return and can spend the night in Miraflores there?

By the time you get out to Miraflores it will be 1 am and you will be too tired to enjoy it. I'd either spend two nights or do it at the end.

http://www.agoda.com/south_america/p..._lima...Ramada Costa Del Sol Lima Airport, Lima, Peru Overview |
travela.priceline.com/ramada-costa-del-sol-lima-airport-lima-peru... couple of other good sites to try to find a deal but
prepare for sticker shock. www.hmanhattan.com 5 minutes away cheaper but just ok.

We spent two separate nights at the Ramada in May. Very pleasant room and friendly staff, comfortable, clean room. Tasty Pisco Sours and snacks upon arrival and decent buffet breakfast.

We got our room at US $171 both times. Pricey by Peru standards, but well worth the convenience. It is literally 1 minute across the street from the terminal doors.

We spent several nights in Miraflores at the end of our trip, but I would not have liked going in on our arrival night. It's a long (at least 30 min) commute and you'll be very tired. We took a 10 am flight to Cusco the next morning, which allowed us to sleep in and have breakfast. Arriving in Cusco before noon gave us time to have a nice lunch and do a little sightseeing that day.
