Airfare to Peru: how far in advance to buy?

travel4now you were lucky not to be affected at all by altitude. But there is no way for anyone to predict how they will fare. Although prior problems are a good indicator of future ones.

Yeah, even though I do live at a fairly high altitude (6000 ft) it was a little over 11,000 ft that I had my one bout of altitude sickness (backpacking); I am going to prepare for it as best I can and be happy if I am not affected!

Just started exploring as we will be coming mid March for our first visit. I have spent a great deal of time in The Sierra Maderest about 7,700 feet & my Cardiologists (Triple by pass 2003) who has been to Cusco thinks I will be fine. Just curious how many others with the Frankenstein chest scar have been there?
PS Got our SFO to Lima tickets for $560 RD Trip.
