what should I chose? Buenos Aires or Singapore?

I have a choice to join my husband to one of the 2 business trips (not enought money for both) and one is in Buenos Aires in Mayy the other in Singapore in September. I have not been to any of these places. Anyone that has? do you have an opinion?
Thanks!

You indeed, have a very hard choice.

I have been to Singapore several times.

Singapore has a tropical climate with hot, humid weather all year round. Temperatures remain high with daytime averages of 86F (30C). Humidity is usually above 75%. September is not as rainy as some other months.
Singapore is one of the cleanest, most beautiful, safest cities in the world. There are lots of tourist attractions. It has one of the best zoos in the world. The food is delicious. But, this city is a very expensive city for tourist's food & accommodations.

I have just returned from a month in Buenos Aires.

May in Buenos Aires is about 65 degrees F or 19 degrees C during the day. It is fall there at that time so, you can expect a few rainy days.
Food & accommodations are at least half the cost as Singapore.
The food and the wine of Buenos Aires is wonderful!
The city is not in pristine condition. Broken sidewalks, dog poop everywhere, petty criminals target tourists. But, the city has its own beauty. Art Deco and Belle Epoque French, Italian, and Spanish style buildings with the feel of Europe charms the eye. The best areas to stay are Recoleta and Palermo. The old areas San Telmo, Centro, and La Boca are fun to visit. The new area of Puerto Madero is shiny and slick with high rises, fabulous restaurants, etc. There is tons to do in BA and it is all inexpensive.

If, you have more questions please, feel free to ask me.

The descriptions were just that. I did not make a choice.

Personally, I would squeeze every dollar in my budget to go to
BOTH cites! And if, I were rich, I would go to each of these cities, every year!

AS noted, tough choice. One factor, depending on where you are traveling from, is jet lag. How long do you have for the trip? Returning from Asia to North America is a tough jet lag usually.

The food in both cities is great. Obviously, its Asian focused in SIN and, if you are a big foodie, with a focus on Asian food, that might swing you. SIN is also surprisingly pretty in spots and we found it way more interesting than some have said. It is very diverse. Yet, a couple of days there is likely enough. I'm also not sure I would embark on a very long haul flt just for SIN. It is a great city to combine with other SEASian cities or destinations.

In contrast, BAires is a city you can just wander and explore, with a Western or European style cafe and restaurant culture. The shopping will be better except for a few Asian type items you can get in SIN. Though, as mentioned, SIN will be more expensive mostly across the board. I think BAires is also a more romantic city, the kind of place you think about just going to. SIN is more a destination to explore in an exotic way, on the way to or from somewhere else. Have fun.

i have been to both and both have their interests....sing. is a much longer ride.... shopping is probably better in sing....sing. is sort of sterile in comparison to other asian cities....english is better in sing. than in BA....

food is good in both places....

only BA has avrooster however and that is a plus...

i think there is more variety in BA---all those neighborhoods..

the hell with the money, go to both....

According to the above renowned forum members, the number one Buenos Aires attraction seems to be: avrooster!!!

My better judgement tells me I'd better go into hiding. LOL!!!!

For the shorter flight better weather in May

Lota of Art and culture and walkability factor

BsAs if I could choose only one.

Try to go to Iguazu Falls view room at the Sheraton

Never been to Singapore (a city we'd like to visit, however), but have been to BsAs twice, most recently in January for a few days. I honestly can't imagine anyone not liking this interesting, beautiful city. It has so much to offer and there is so much to see and do. Had the pleasure of meeting both avrooster and condu on our recent trip, and if you decide on BsAs by all means have him plan a GTG. We thoroughly enjoyed ours.

I've been to Singapore once (1977) and Buenos Aires (2005,2006, 2007, and if all goes as planned, 2010. The culture is phenomenal as well as the food choices. Do South America now and Singapore (a very sterile and ultra orderly city) later.

Some day I plan to reacquaint myself with this cosmopolitan city (Singapore) but not before I return to other places that have my passionate interests!
