Taxi Fare from EZE to Recoleta 2010

Although I was reluctant to ask this question, I decided to do it anyway to ease my curiosity and quandry.

I've traveled to Buenos Aires on three previous occasions and hope to return to this lovely city in April of this year. I've already had my apartment rental confirmed through www.ba4uapartments.com.ar and have begun to write a tentative itinerary, but my concern is the fee assessed for roundtrip travel to and from EZE to the wonderful barrio of Recoleta?

I can reserve this transport through this owner/agency but question their fee of $70- $75 US roundtrip. I think I did not pay this amount previously for this type of service.

On my previous trips to BsAs, I used the services of MLeon, but I can't remember how much I paid for taxi service.

I would appreciate some up-to-date information, por favor. Gracias!

I would not have advised using that apartment rental firm, but that's water under the bridge by now.

Manuel Tienda León, http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar/home/home.asp
which the best and also the most expensive "remise" service in our international airport is now charging 150 pesos and you can pay with your credit card.

The cheapest is http://www.taxiezeiza.com.ar/ and they charge 118 pesos, with a special rate of 88 pesos to drive you to the airport when you leave.

So, perhaps now you know why I wouldn't have advised using that apartment rental firm.

Have a great time in our town.

It depends on your budget, among other things, Pauline.

I'm not much good for apartment rental question, because I'm a local and haven't rented a flat in BA for nearly 40 years and have never rented short-term.

However, I have read many, many posts on this subject in this and other forums, which is what I advise you to do, if you have time. If not, I'll tell you who you can ask.

Hello avrooster, I know from researching on here and reading Bob's trip report that you are the expert on BA! We just may have the opportunity of a flight to BA in March, it would be our first time and we would be on a budget! Probably something like UK £60/£80 per day? is that reasonable?
would appreciate any help but maybe I should post my own request, so will do that once we knnow for sure but a pointer in the right direction would help.
thanks, Pauline.

I suggest you go to http://tinyurl.com/nw9f4 become a member (it's free and it will only take a few seconds) and send a Private Message (via an internal messaging system they have) to forum member Karmalaw http://www.tripadvisor.com/members-forums/karmalaw

She'll be pleased to help you, particularly if you tell her "avrooster sent me". LOL!!!!

A great poster like Bob well knows that, even if I were "the expert on BA", I have my weak points and this is one of them, for the reasons mentioned in a previous post above.

You could also post your question here as well as on TA, but my main suggestion is some more research. If you absolutely want a "pointer", you sound as if the right short term apartment rental firm for you could be http://www.byt-argentina.com.ar/

They should have the apartment for your budget.

Have a great time in our town with your DH, Pauline. Ask me about anything else you need.

Thanks for the guidance, avrooster, and to the person who hijacked my thread-- I take umbrage to this! You could have begun a completely new thread or done some research here.
Your query has been asked previously.

• The last time I rented an apartment, I went through www.bairesapartments.com.ar. ...received superb service and had a beautiful apartment in Recoleta and at a good price. I would have rented this same apartment (which I liked very much along with the lovely woman owner), but this time I merely wanted to experience a different lodging.

The apartment was in Recoleta on Libertador-- beautifully appointed and quiet and had a wonderful ambience. The owner was an elderly woman with a lot of grace. Upon my leaving she invited me back as a renter and asked if I'd advise others of her particular property! I paid $400+ per week.
