Eating and drinking in Argentina

I haven't heard anyone talking about the safety of eating and drinking in Argentina- both in BA and Bariloche. Can Americans drink the water safely? Can we eat salad or fruit at restaurants? How careful do we need to be>

We were told to drink bottled in Argentina and Chile by locals before we arrived.

Of course, you can eat and drink water and salads. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
I think you are for a surprise once you get there. Good luck.

Porteños, like the French and the Italians, tend to drink bottled water.

They do not need the cautions of some countries, where you cannot brush your teeth or wash veggies in the tap water.

The water is safe.

We have been there twice with no problems. We DID drink bottled water - but then we tend to do that here in WDC as well. We were no more cautious than we are in the US.

Have a great trip.

Our Chilean hosts and a Chilean travel agent told us about the bottled water. We ate the most amazing fruits, vegetables, salads and seafood in Chile with no problems at all. It was all incredibly fresh and tasty.
