Weather in Buenos Aires

My husband and I are thinking about taking our first trip with our baby who will be 4 months in February. We were looking to go to a city vacation (BA) and perhaps some time at a resort (Urugauay). While our plans aren't set at all -- and before I start reviewing potential itineraries, I wanted to get some opinions on weather in BA at that time. Frommers makes it sound hot and humid and in the 90s in February as do some posts here. However, on weather.com, it saves the average high is 81. If the weather is in the 80's, I think it's totally doable to walk around all day with our baby in a stroller or baby bjorn. But, if it's in the 90's and really hot/humid, I don't think BA is the right choice unless we can wait until March.

I would love to hear from some folks who have been to BA this time of year and get a sense of what the weather has been like for you.

Thank you so very much!!!

The Weather Underground site is great because you can see what the weather was anywhere , anytime in the past or at the moment. Above was the weather for Feb 10, 2009..

I liken February in Buenos Aires to August in NYC. Hot and Humid. Even if it were in the 80s.. when the humidity is also high and there is no breeze and the sidewalks and streets are throwing the heat right back at you, it is uncomfortable.

Truthfully, my opinion, I would not bring a 4 month old here at that time. The heat and humidity and most likely mosquitoes ... there are plenty of taxis that are not air conditioned .. if it were just you and your husband, I would say yeah, try it but a baby that young might just be miserable.

The weather is unpredictable, particularly lately (we recently had summer temperatures in mid-winter), but I would suggest waiting until March.

We just returned from Buenos Aires (early Dec) and it was much warmer and more humid than weather.com predicted. I would suspect it would be warmer than the eighties The Weather Channel says the city averages for February. Also- on a related note- beware the of mosquito problem. It was big in Dec and apparently only gets worse as spring goes into summer.

My friend and guide advised me just last week about the typical weather in April although I've been in BsAs 3Xs during September/October (simply gorgeous spring weather during both months in 2005, 2006 and 2007).

Have you considered spring or the beginning of autumn vs the summer months (high season)?
